Dreaming
Sunlight streaming down through the branches above my head, the light so bright while at the same time filtered by the pale green leaves.
A warm breeze drifted past me, sliding across my bare skin, winding up into my hair, stray curls brushing against the back of my neck.
All around me was the sweet smell of flowers, the fresh scent of grass, the clean openness of the air, the earthy smell of the dirt under my feet.
Everything I looked at was saturated with colour, so powerful, so vivid it didn't seem real to me.
In the early morning, the forest seemed almost magical.
It was amazing. It was compelling. It was breathtaking.
It was familiar.
It was home.

Sam: Afterward
There was no more Lily, at least not in her life. Tracy now went by Thomas. Her small group had peeled away, going in their own directions while still managing to hold on to each other. That is, everyone except for her.

since i've been feeling bad about not having posted anything new in the past who knows how long, i'm going to post the dream bits that Sam has after she arrives in a town i still haven't freaking named yet.
i'm so pissed at myself at that, and for having book title doubts. i'm not totally sure it fits anymore.
*sigh* o well.
i have 7 dream snippets planned, maybe 8 if i want a really small one as a prologue. i'll try and post 1 a day for the next week, and remember that this is still a first draft. forgive the typos.
oh, and i'll be on the lookout for a beta reader for the whole novel soon, maybe in the fall.
