Into the Moonlight Vol.1

Sometimes I wonder why I continue to do this. Maybe it’s some bizarre sense of loyalty towards the people who took me in after my parents died. Maybe it’s because I know that if I don’t take care of them no one else will. It’s not like they know how to take care of themselves.   
Of course, maybe I’m just insane.   
I kind of doubt this; I don’t honestly think I’m insane. I am grasping at straws to find a reason for my continuing job of personal assistant/housemaid/cook/computer programmer/a bunch of other jobs that five other people should be doing instead of me ItM - Erin - 1

Sometimes I wonder if there’s anything more to what I’m doing with my life, if I should just give in and go into business like my dad or if I should stay the way I am, ‘a complete mess who doesn’t care about anything but playing loud music and spending time with friends,’ as my mom would put it.   
I’d put it as more of ‘a complete mess who enjoys playing loud music and hanging out with friends and having a good time.’ My mom and I have always had varying opinions of what I should do with my life.

Into the Moonlight, my long serial novel (ItM for short).

In the beginning, Erin, a vampire, is stuck as a servant in the home of Simon, a werewolf. She's been in the house for 10 years, but he's never bothered to look twice at her, until she falls into his lap. Literally.

(This is Volume I. Volume II starts at chapter 51 in a separate folder.)

There were times when change wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, it was even a good thing. Of course, it didn't feel like a good thing when surprise after surprise would occur, almost smothering me, but after a while things got better.   
Maybe I just got better at dealing with them.   
Things do settle down after a big change, and I could see that during the settling down time, things weren't as bad as I thought. It sucks, but it doesn't suck forever.   
I don't think I got used to change, but that I was able to brace myself when it hit, because th ItM - Erin - 87

A Monster with a MoustacheLightning flashed outside, brought enough to be seen through the thick curtains hiding the bedroom from the night.   
Inside, the room's resident woke up, eyes darting around the room, wondering what was happening outside.   
Thunder rumbled overhead, as loud as drums, and the body lying under the covers curled up into a ball, fear starting to creep up her spine.   
When lightning struck for a second time, even closer to the house than the first, the shadows grew, and what was soothing in the daytime turned into something dangerous and fighting at night.

Twenty-TenLooking across the living room, I watched my sister tear into the calendar she'd recently received as a Christmas present from her boyfriend. The bikini-clad woman stared back at me from her position of supplication, draped across the hood of a shiny, red convertible.   
I cringed when she shoved her fingernail into the plastic covering, wondering if she was giving herself a paper cut. "How can you do that without scissors?"   
"It's cause they're so long, that's why." Tearing into the plastic, she removed it and tossed it in the direction of the garbage can, too busy hanging up the calendar to throw out the trash properly Twenty-Ten

The Big, Bad Wolf

so, i'm behind on writing out my conference notes. i'm sorry about that, people who want them. i've been busy with school and NaNo writing and writing class writing.

last night i got to the point with the NaNo writing where I didn't like what i was writing, which meant i needed to get to bed before i got really annoyed with it. i'm kind of still in the same frame of mind, but i think i just need to get it all out of my brain. and i need to find a test reader for when i finish it.

i also got to the point where i thought i should be writing something YA fiction related, since that what my writing class is all about, but i already had an idea in my head. *sigh* my brain's all jumbly right now.

so, today i'm going to do some NaNo writing (and hopefully like it) and try and get it all out of my head before it explodes. it's possible that tomorrow will be spent going back over what i wrote to edit and fiddle around with it.
